International trade

Eurostat is the statistical office of the European Union situated in Luxembourg. Its mission is to provide high-quality statistics for Europe. While fulfilling its mission, Eurostat promotes the following values: respect and trust, fostering excellence, promoting innovation, service orientation, professional independence. Looking for ways to continually improve its products and services, Eurostat gained the European Foundation for Quality Management "Committed to Excellence" recognition in November 2016.

The WTO provides quantitative information in relation to economic and trade policy issues. Its databases and publications provide access to data on trade flows, tariffs, non-tariff measures (NTMs) and trade in value added.The TFA Database provides a variety of statistical analyses of the TFA notifications received and on the progress towards full implementation of the TFA. It contains Member profiles pages with an in-depth analysis per country amongst other features.

International Trade is the exchange of capital, goods, and services across international borders or territories.[1] In most countries, such trade represents a significant share of gross domestic product (GDP). While international trade has existed throughout history (for example Uttarapatha, Silk Road, Amber Road, scramble for Africa, Atlantic slave trade, salt roads), its economic, social, and political importance has been on the rise in recent centuries.
